    Verdict

A cracking handicap in which several have decent claims. Equitation and Danzan finished 1-2 over course and distance four weeks ago and there may not be much between the pair again. Polybius has a touch of class and probably needed the run at York last month. Gulliver can’t be ignored but is on a long losing run and was reportedly lame after finishing third at Ripon 12 days ago. Dominus was a well-backed favourite on the same card but stumbled and unseated his rider leaving the stalls. Normandy Barriere has been running better than form figures would suggest while conditions will suit Diamond Dougal and veteran Maarek but MOLLS MEMORY created a favourable impression when getting off the mark in rain-softened ground at Ascot and has scope for further improvement.
