Gold Flame appreciated the drop back to this trip when opening his account in a Southwell maiden last time and has to be respected but Henry Candy's gelding does not look to be particularly well treated for his debut in this grade and preference is for Gwilym, with Abwaab rated the pick of the remainder. The selection is a consistent performer in this grade and should appreciate the return to six furlongs having been staying on at the end of the minimum trip here last month. Peter Makin's Louphole is strictly held by Abwaab on running here last month and looks booked for a place at best, while his conqueror that day has disappointed since and may now be best watched. Outer Hebrides is on a long losing sequence but has not had a great deal of help from the handicapper, while China Cherub is hard to recommend on recent form. There is no problem on that score with Gwilym though and he gets the vote.
