In depth

Verdict

Jim Boyle holds a strong hand in this finale with LEROY LEROY and Bad Company. The latter was in terrific form in the second half of last season, winning four times in a row including one over course and distance. But all of those victories were achieved on soft or heavy ground and he could find today’s conditions a bit too lively returning from a lay-off. The former returned from a break with a narrow win in an apprentice race at Doncaster and, only 3lb higher, can go in again. Enough Already was a winner at Lingfield in February but none of the others make much appeal with Pactolus an all-weather specialist.
