In depth

Verdict

Gennie Bond is steadily improving and can land this opener at the expense of Guinea A Minute and Severely. This daughter of Pivotal stayed on late after being outpaced into the final two furlongs when finishing third to stable companion Valentin. She was still green and is still open to plenty of improvement. Guinea A Minute is a typical Michael Bell juvenile as she is slowly finding her way, after two outings at Newbury and Epsom she will be spot on for this and poses a big threat. Best of the newcomers may be Severely, trained by Barry Hills who is now starting to run his better juveniles. This daughter of Cape Cross cost 34 thousand guineas as a yearling and has been pleasing connections in her work. The betting market will determine whether or not this one is fancied, which also applies to the other debutantes. But without that knowledge we will stick with the form horse and that is Gennie Bond.
