        Verdict

Midi only had one run last term when nearer last than first in a Newmarket maiden but this beautifully-bred colt by Frankel out of Midday is surely better than that. He must have had issues to be returning to action this late in the year but is one to note with the future in mind whatever happens here. Anchises has shaped well on both starts and has a leading claim despite being turned over at odds-on last time at Ffos Las but PETRASTAR (NAP) is the preference. The Cox gelding was denied by the minimum margin on debut here last month by the strongly-punted Klassique but had the rest nicely accounted for. That represented an excellent first start and a similar effort would make him hard to beat. The market should help with regard to the newcomers on show.
