      Verdict

Windsor maidens are always tricky affairs and so with some trepidation we select Wedding Cake ahead of Raakaan and Take a Bow. The selection hails from the powerful Sir Michael Stoute yard and is superbly bred by Groom Dancer out of Greektown, who was a group three winner in France. She is a half-sister to the classy Gamut from the same stable so trip and ground should be ideal and she is hard to get away form. The best of the experienced runners could be Take a Bow who finished runner up to subsequent Derby victor North Light when they met at Goodwood last season, if he is fit for his seasonal debut he will be a tough nut to crack. The other newcomer to warrant a mention is Alec Stewart's Raakaan, a quite expensive son of Halling, who should be noted in the betting market. So, unless Wedding Cake is a major drifter in the betting, she has to be the selection
