In depth

Verdict

Mohamed Moubarak’s string has been going well as proved by Rasheeq’s second at Newbury 11 days ago. He must have a decent chance of going one better here, despite a 2lb rise. Badayel won at Lingfield earlier this month on only his second start in a handicap but is making his debut on Turf. Spirited Guest may also be best on the all-weather but The Lamplighter was only just touched off at Goodwood last week. WHELANS WAY remains 6lb higher than when successful at Ascot last season but his rider is good value for his 3lb claim and encouraging reappearance at Chelmsford will have blown away any cobwebs. Spanish Star looks best of the rest.
