In depth
Formwatch
Dawari (IRE) looks the one to beat. Sir Michael Stoute's son of In The Wings boasts entries in the Dane Stakes and Derby and although the stable could be in better shape the Barbadan handler knows the price of fish. This likeable sort has run in three very hot races last term and this represents his easiest opportunity to date. There are several newcomers set to do battle including Jeremy Noseda's Mister McGrath, a son of Common Grounds owned, like Martin Pipe's smart dual purpose horse Far Cry, by greyhound trainer Nicky Chambers. He commands respect, while John Gosden's Emerald Lake is another to watch in the market. is apparently held in some regard by connections and is another who cannot be ruled out, but, as we've said, we'll take the odds with Dawari.
