Verdict

Progressive last year, Whitehaven was due to run here yesterday. Sword Beach gets a change of headgear after going close over a mile at Sandown recently but has something to prove over this far and RUSSIAN VIRTUE (NAP) makes more appeal. The latter also steps up in distance but was beaten less than a length in a tougher contest over 1m2f at Sandown last time and is taken to confirm running with Bad Company in the process of going one better. Chai Yo Power improved to finish second over 1m2f at Chepstow on his handicap debut and is another worthy of consideration.
