Verdict
Paula Lane comes into this in good form and will have no problems with this trip. She can again take care of Port Moreno, even on these revised terms. An improved showing can be expected from Miss Issy now that she steps up in trip, as she is a half-sister to the useful stayer Father Juninho. If Persephone Heights handles this slower surface, she wouldn't be without a chance. She was continually short of room at Lingfield on her latest outing and still managed to be beaten less than two lengths. Herne Bay is a fine individual, but he looks to have something to prove now after a couple of disappointing efforts, so the vote goes to Nick Littmoden's Shingles, who is taken to knock spots off his rivals. He has impressed in his last two outings, none more so than when bolting up here last week, over what could well be an inadequate trip for him. That was a much better race than this and it is no surprise he turns out again so soon, as he is sure to take a hike in the weights for that effort. He is still well treated under his penalty and will be much more at home over this trip.
