        Verdict

        Another tough race to call here for punters with many in with chances on their best form but the principals look to be Penang Sapphire, Ashes and Joyeaux and the vote goes to the first mentioned. The selection showed improved form to win in heavy ground at Nottingham last time out and if he is effective on this different surface he will take all the beating. Ashes rates the main danger on his latest third over course and distance behind Hidden Jewel but he has a little to find with the selection on their Nottingham running, although he did not get the clearest of runs. Joyeaux is lightly raced and is open to improvement and at least she has experience of the surface having finished third in a maiden at this track won by the useful Captain Johnno. There will not be any 40/1 on offer this time but Penang Sapphire looks the one to be on.
