      Verdict

Madrinho is back on Tapeta for the first time since second off a 15lb higher mark here just over a year ago. If he’s anywhere near his best, he should take all the beating but JOHNNY REB has been lightly raced by comparison and may be capable of following up a recent victory at Kempton if handling the drop back to 6f. Big Lachie is best over this trip so a run over 5f at Newcastle can be ignored. Tabaahy is a dual course winner over 5f but this extra furlong has now proved too far on three occasions. Bugler Bob is having a first run here but goes well at Newcastle so can’t be ignored.
