Verdict

This could be an above average maiden by the track's standards and for the winner, we like MUREB although Tesslam and Gramercy are respected. At 500 000 US dollars, the son of Elusive Quality was a far from cheap purchase but he is a half-brother to Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner, Summoner and the useful Compton Admiral. His yard are in flying form and seem capable of having them ready first time out. Tesslam has the edge of experience. The Singspiel colt ran well on debut at Newmarket but was a tad disappointing at Redcar when overhauled close home. Gramercy went into many notebooks after an eyecatching debut at this course. A step up to seven furlongs should not prove to be an issue on that evidence. State Fair appeared not to appreciate soft ground at Newbury so that form can be safely ignored. Music Maestro has place claims on the basis of a fair second at Thirsk behind Layla's Dancer. Fivefold heads north after two runs on Lingfield's surface. Elspeth's Boy represents a yard that have hit form and has to be noted in the betting accordingly. A race likely to produce plenty of future winners and Mureb is the recommendation for today.
