        Verdict

        We have to say that you should pay some heed to the betting here so, tentatively, we will suggest Markington ahead of Disco Lights and Precious Dancer. Disco Lights is the one with the form and her two placed efforts, both on Turf, have earned her a rating in the 80s, and that could well prove good enough to score here, although her breeding does not scream "show me the dirt". You can't say that about Ed Dunlop's Marachi Band, although he'll have to improve on his debut. The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained Demon Docker is related to a number of winners and is one to have a look at in the betting. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained Duty cost 105,000 guineas and is well-bred, albeit for middle distances, while Marcus Tregoning's Island Myth did not show too much on his debut. Markington is a Medicean half-brother to a number of winners, while Precious Dancer, who has a wide draw to contend with, is related to winners and the stable has had a juvenile winner this week. Finally, Carmona cost 22,000 guineas as a two-year-old and catches the eye on pedigree, while Roslea Lady also has experience but, unless the debutants prove to be modest, has a bit more to find to score. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Markington.
