      Verdict

      Star Anise was beaten nine lengths by hot favourite Earthflight over course and distance two weeks ago but still finished ahead of Jazzy Lady, who is worse off at the weights today. Rural Affair stepped out of plating company to land a nursery over track and trip last week and should make a bold bid to land the hat-trick under a penalty but RAGGED ROBBIN may be able to take advantage of a drop in grade to defy top weight. His latest fourth at Lingfield was his best run so far and there should be more to come in the months ahead.
