Verdict
Bookiebasher Babe should appreciate the return to a mile having seemingly failed to stay further at Southwell last time and Mick Quinn's filly has to be respected back on the Polytrack but a safer bet looks to be Whaston, who gets the vote with Afton View rated the pick of the remainder. The selection deserves to get his head in front having found one too good in each of his last two starts and gets the vote to do just that. Scruffy Skip was well held on his recent return and may improve for the run but is hard to back with confidence after that outing. Forsyte Saga has given little cause for optimism this winter but Mark Johnston's horses have been in good form again over the last week and it would be foolish to dismiss here completely here. Afton View has run to a consistent level of form of late and has to be respected but preference is for Whaston who is taken to gain a deserved success.
