        Verdict

        YEADON is in last chance saloon and is given another opportunity to pay for the drinks. Wanchai Whisper and Devassa are others with reasonable claims and can pounce if the selection fails to live up to expectations. Devassa has been placed twice from four starts and at least brings a hint of consistency to the table. She was brushed aside in a weak nursery last time out, though. And as this is of a similar level, she does have a bit to prove. Wanchai Whisper won a similar race over course and distance in August but was well held in handicaps afterwards. The return to this grade is a logical step and it would come as no surprise to see the David Evans-trained filly play a strong supporting role. However, Yeadon is faced with arguably his easiest assignment to date and is given the benefit of the doubt tonight. Freddie Tylicki's keenness to find as many winners as he can before the end of the season adds an extra dimension to the race and bold effort can be anticipated from the partnership.
