      In depth

      Verdict

LYRIC BALLAD may be good enough on her handicap debut as she was getting the hang of things late on at Kempton last time and should have enough scope to do better. Corton Lad was always in the firing-line when runner-up to Crystal Peaks here last week and is an obvious threat while Lingfield winner Spithead is definitely better than he showed here last time and should get involved. Kingsville had shown a bit of promise prior to running a shocker here last time and it's rare to find a Mark Johnston runner on such a lowly mark.
