Verdict
The likes of Amankila, Ivy League Star and General Flumpa are all unexposed and have to be respected but top weight Jakarmi, who represents solid handicap form, has given every indication that this longer trip would suit and he gets the vote. The selection has not only been running well in handicaps of late but has form on the surface as well and, with improvement to come for the longer trip, Bryn Palling's gelding is the selection. Michael Bell's Amankila should get the trip without any difficulty but did not seem to handle the surface on her visit to Southwell, while the Barry Hills-trained Ivy League Star is by Sadler's Wells and is far from certain to do so. A bigger threat may come from General Flumpa, who represents the stable of Chris Wall. The son of Vettori has form over the trip and on the surface and should be thereabouts. The John Jenkins-trained Amwell Brave now looks fully exposed and of more interest may be Queens Fantasy, who showed improved form at Brighton last time and comes from a stable with a good record here. Jakarmi holds solid claims though and he gets the vote.
