Verdict
This looks like the day that LADY OF AKITA can break her duck, and she can do so at the main expense of Silken Aunt. John Gosden's winter runners are always to be respected, and the selection ran a very pleasing debut at Lingfield over a mile last time, when she just got a bit tired close home. She should be much better both for the experience, and for the time being, the drop in trip, and she looks capable of winning this. Silken Aunt looks the danger. The Barathea filly was a little green first time over course and distance, but she looks capable of improving plenty for that run and should give the selection a bit to think about. Debutant Seeking Rio, by Captain Rio, should be able to act on this surface and over this trip, so money for her on debut would be interesting, while Belgooree cost plenty as a foal compared to her opponents in this and is related to some good stock, including an Italian Group 1 winner and also a Listed scorer, so again, a market check would be prudent. The Blue Dog may emerge as best of the remainder, but preference is for Lady Of Akita.
