In depth

Verdict

FLYING SPARKLE sets the standard and can return to action with her second victory. A comfortable winner on her debut at Windsor in July, she followed a good second at Yarmouth with a tremendous run in the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar when just failing to match strides with Darkanna. Midsummer Knight has now had 11 starts without winning though he probably produced his best run to date in a better race on this surface at Newcastle last week. Neither Dragstone Rock nor Q Twenty Boy showed much on their debuts but How Far has a speedy pedigree and her yard has been among the winners lately. Arden Pulse is a half-brother to seven winners ,including the useful Bourbonnais, and his stable remains in good form.
