        Verdict

        Comic Tales, Maromito and King Egbert are all shortlisted here with the confident vote given to Comic Tales. The selection ran a cracker last time out when narrowly beaten by Compton Classic over this course and distance. A reproduction of that effort will make him hard to beat and we are happy to nominate him as our idea of the winner. Maromito was comfortably held by our selection in that race so of more interest today could be King Egbert. He went off favourite in that same race but could only finish a disappointing fifth. However, he was returning from a break and he gave the impression that he would benefit from the outing, so he should give our selection plenty to think about today, especially if the market speaks in his favour. The booking of Ryan Moore for Piper Lily catches the eye and she could go well at a price if she is fit enough to do herself justice. However, Comic Tales is in good heart at present and is taken to lead them home.
