In depth

Verdict

Ganymede has the assistance of an experienced amateur and can make that count against the likes of Isa'af, Piper General and Dictator. Although Ganymede has yet to open his account, he has been placed on the Flat on a number of occasions, most recently when third to Orvietan at Lingfield in February. That was his first outing on the level for 16 months, and he has in fact since been over timber again, when ninth at Chepstow. This will be his first attempt at this level, and he could easily be up to the task. Isa'af has won eight times in all and kept on when headed by Tignasse in a Lingfield claimer last month, so could again go well despite his weight, while Piper General took too keen a hold when beaten at Southwell, but won an apprentice race on this track in December. Dictator meets the selection on worse terms than when finishing a place behind him here on what was his first Flat outing for some time, and all in all, Ganymede has leading claims in a race of this nature.
