Verdict

Base Note won a Class 2 handicap over the track and trip before scoring again at Lingfield but looked a few pounds high on the latter track next time. CONTACT completed a double over the trip at Newmarket and Haydock in the summer, both at this level. He makes his all-weather debut but could prove better than these. Evania is 3-4 and had plenty in hand when scoring at Southwell last month, with Protected Guest well beaten, but Nolton Cross is up 7lb for landing a Class 4 here and this is tougher.
