      Verdict

      The Shamardal colt DUFFEL is the first foal of a well-connected mare who won over 1m2f. Though this drop in trip is a slight worry, he's almost certainly better than he's shown so far and can make a winning start in handicaps. Falsify is also unexposed and has hinted at ability but Bob Cowell complicates matters by also saddling Samsamsam, who was second over course and distance on his penultimate start. Lucky Leyf and Pilgrim could be best of the rest.
