In depth
Formwatch
Diamond Max (IRE) Transferred his juvenile turf form to the sand with a good win at Southwell recently. This extra furlong should not be too much of a problem, and has a decent chance of following up here.
Golden Hind (USA) Steps up to this trip for the first time and both his breeding and style of running suggest that it will suit him. Has something to find with Diamond Max on recent running but there is every chance that he could reverse the form on better terms.
Monte Mayor Golf (IRE) Consistent but has only won once from twelve attempts. The handicapper seems to have her measure and there are others with better claims in this race.
Nose The Trade Beat the useful Ballymagan over course and distance last time, with Monte Mayor Golf seemingly held in third. That form would give him a decent chance, though he has something to find on the book with Golden Hind on their recent form behind Better Off.
Jools Improved on debut effort when getting up close home in 7f maiden here last month. Hard to assess on that, but has plenty of scope and he should do better over this extra furlong, so must come into calculations.
Pay The Silver Has shown signs of ability in maidens on the turf last year, but this is a stiff task on his sand debut, in what looks a competitive race.
Dane Dancing (IRE) Easy winner of a 9f maiden here last month. Has run fairly well in two subsequent outings, but steps up in class here and is more exposed than most, so hard to fancy.
No Name City (IRE) Absent since October and making his handicap debut here, but little worthwhile form to speak of so far.
