      Verdict

      Nick The Odds showed a big improvement to land a maiden race on his first start at Southwell last time which suggests it may have been due to the slower Fibresand surface. Cascadia won at the same track in August but has finished nearer last than first in three subsequent outings while Volodina has yet to threaten. L'Es Fremantle has shown nothing as yet, so a token vote in a pretty poor race goes to MAUPITI EXPRESS, who should appreciate the return to Polytrack having been placed on fast ground at Redcar last year.
