In depth

A fairly competitive finale, though you'd imagine All The Winds might just need the run and the versatile Ultimate also returns from a break. Royal Alcor may be in the handicapper's grip now and this may be too tough for Colinca's Lad but Wyborne wasn't beaten far at Ayr last time while Azrag is better than he showed when favourite for a novelty race at Epsom. Fennell Bay is very interesting as he's won three times off higher marks on Turf this year but this represents a big drop in grade for LYRIC STREET and, potentially well-treated, the top weight can win his first start on Polytrack eased in distance.

Lyric Street (IRE) 9-4 (9-6) Took keen hold, held up in rear, ridden and no impression over 2f out, went modest 3rd inside final furlong, 3rd of 5, 11l behind Montefeltro (8-9) at Yarmouth 1m 6f hcp 0-100 (2) gd in Sep.

Fennell Bay (IRE) 20-1 (8-10) Chased leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened soon after, last of 13, 20l behind Haafaguinea (8-6) at Newbury 1m 2f hcp 105 (2) sft in Sep.

Azrag (USA) 9-4fav (11-10) Held up, pushed along and dropped to rear over 6f out, detached final 3f, last of 14, well behind Rossetti (10-13) at Epsom Downs 1m 4f hcp 0-80 (4) sft in Sep.

Wyborne 12-1 (9-2) Held up mid-division, headway over 2f out, went 2nd over 1f out, every chance inside final furlong, no extra and lost 2nd place towards finish, 3rd of 14, 1 1/4l behind Cockney Sparrow (9-1) at Ayr 1m 5f hcp 0-90 (3) gs in Sep.

All The Winds (GER) 15-8fav (9-4) Missed break, held up in touch, headway on outside over 3f out, ridden over 1f out, kept on same pace, no impression, 4th of 5, 4l behind Illustrious Forest (9-7) at Wolverhampton 1m 4f hcp 0-85 (4) pol in Mar.

Sir Boss (IRE) 33-1 (8-13) Held up, always towards rear, 12th of 13, 16l behind Uphold (9-6) at Kempton 1m 4f hcp 0-85 (4) pol in Sep.

Ultimate 8-1 (10-0) Went right start, pushed along to soon lead, keen, ridden and headed entering final 3f, kept on same pace, 4th of 5, 10l behind Reve De Nuit (9-11) at Southwell 1m 4f clm stks (5) fbs in May.

Royal Alcor (IRE) 9-1 (9-4) Tracked leaders, led travelling well inside final 2f, ridden and hung left inside final furlong, no extra and headed well inside final furlong, 2nd of 9, 1 1/4l behind Gabrial's King (10-0) at Wolverhampton 1m 6f hcp 0-80 (4) pol in Sep.

Maria's Choice (IRE) 16-1 (9-3) Slowly into stride, behind, outpaced over 2f out, never on terms, 7th of 10, 10l behind Fazza (8-10) at Pontefract 1m hcp 0-80 (4) gd in Sep.

Colinca's Lad (IRE) 8-1 (8-6) Led, clear 10f out until 4f out, ridden over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, stayed on same pace, no chance with winner, 2nd of 5, 4 1/2l behind Montefeltro (8-9) at Yarmouth 1m 6f hcp 0-100 (2) gd in Sep.
