Verdict
Great Return shot up the weights after completing a double in easy fashion on this track in February and only just managed to complete a hat-trick at Southwell. He's up another 6lb and this looks tougher. Angel Gabrial hasn't won since the 2014 Northumberland Plate and doesn't run very often on the all-weather but he's been given a chance by the assessor and can go well. Bardd, who won over 1m5f at Chelmsford, hasn't run well in his last two starts at Kempton but Western Way has been in excellent form this year though has gone up another 4lb after finishing second at Newcastle and looks a few pounds high. SHERIFF GARRETT won twice over 1m6f here last summer and should have no problems with the longer trip so looks the one to be on.
