Verdict
DUSTER looks the one to be on in this maiden; the list of alternatives is headed by Yabtree and Major Maximus. The selection is having only his third start but he has twice finished second and he looks to have been found a good opportunity to open his account. He chased home Royal Holiday over 6f at Southwell when last seen out back in August and from a favourable draw he can go one better here. Yabtree put in a noteworthy effort on his debut as he raced virtually alone up the stands' rail. If he can build on that then he could be a big danger to the selection. Major Maximus also shaped with promise on his debut over this course and distance when he had to contend with the worst of the draw. Under the circumstances it was a good effort and there should be more to come from him. Juicy Pear and Honoured are interesting newcomers who are certainly worth a market check, but the nomination goes the way of Duster.
