In depth

Verdict

Chivola and Moon Bound make most appeal in this maiden and the vote goes the way of Chivola. The selection was a decent second behind Star Strider over this course and distance last time having gone close previously behind Fast Feet. There is the worry that he might find this trip a little on the sharp side, but he hasn't been beaten far on his last two starts and he is worth another chance. Moon Bound is a lightly-raced type and he wasn't beaten far behind My Mate Pete at Lingfield last time out. There may be more to come, but this drop in trip is not sure to suit and with this in mind he is taken on. Earl Compton does have ability but he is quite quirky and he was well beaten in a claimer here last week. He is hard to recommend off the back of that effort and we will stick with Chivola to lead them home.
