In depth
Formwatch
Vintage Premium Good performer on turf, winning at Newbury and Doncaster last season, before finishing unplaced in Cambridgeshire on final start; first race on dirt.
Sir Ninja (IRE) Decent type; unable to win last term, but finished close sixth in good Leopardstown race in November; followed with unplaced effort in France on last start; likely outsider here under high weight.
Wahj (IRE) Won 7f Newbury handicap last August, then unplaced over 6f at Yarmouth; best form over shorter than this 1m 100y.
The Prince Goes well on all-weather and was a strong-finishing fourth behind Nose The Trade at this venue recently; can be a quirky customer but did little wrong last time and has reasonable chance here.
King Priam (IRE) Last seen when finishing in mid-division in Royal Hunt Cup last June; won Class C handicap over course and trip last winter so obviously handles all-weather and is a live outsider.
Adelphi Boy (IRE) Won 1m handicap at Yarmouth last September, but well beaten last three starts; outsider.
Air Mail Has had a busy winter on the all-weather but is holding his form admirably; second to Oscar Pepper over 7f here last time; possibly a little high in the weights now.
Pantar (IRE) Showed decent form on dirt last winter, including when winning over 9f here from Weet-A-Minute last March; not been seen since unplaced effort in Cambridgeshire; may need the race.
Gralmano (IRE) Finished just ahead of The Prince when third to Nose The Trade here last time out; may be ideally suited by a little further.
Kinsman (IRE) Best trip seems to be 7f although has won over further; normally runs at Lingfield where he has won four times this winter, but does act here as well.
Risk Free Not a particularly straightforward type, but won over 1m at Lingfield last month and close fifth here last time.
Invader Well beaten on both starts this winter; has shown better overall form on turf than dirt.
Sergeant York Beat Guilsborough in Class D handicap at Southwell last time; has never run at Wolverhampton but it looks significant that Kevin Darley has been booked to ride here and could be the one to beat.
