      Verdict

      DOUBLE ACT is not badly treated at the weights in this claimer and is fancied to oblige ahead of shortlist material Hold The Bucks and Mytivil. A course winner in the past over seven furlongs, the selection was second last time out at the track behind the progressive Doncosaque. That run, coupled with solid handicap form behind Holberg puts him firmly in the driving seat and assuming that this trip is not a true problem (only plugged on last time), he should take the race. Common Diva is rated 63 and gets a whopping 17lb from the selection; that should be enough to see Alan McCabe's mare in the frame but her profile doesn't inspire confidence. Mytivil ran a better race last time but that was not a strong race; she needs to improve but she is related to several winners and should not be underestimated. Mullitovermaurice is unexposed and won over the course and distance last time; that was an improvement on what the gelding had shown previously and he may not repeat the same level of form today. Hold The Bucks is consistent in selling and claiming company and must be considered a major player assuming that there is a strong pace throughout, however in a closely-knit claimer it is Double Act who can shoulder top weight to victory now dropped in class.
