        Verdict

        Harwoods Star beat the veteran Steel City Boy in an apprentices' race at Southwell last week to record his first win. A winner without a penalty, he should confirm running. Warm Order failed to cope with a 4lb rise last time for winning over track and trip earlier so a token vote goes to CHINA EXCELS in a poor contest. The latter went close off a similar mark here back in August and it could be his turn today.
