    Verdict

    The extra furlong at Catterick last time was expected to suit MEDICOE and Sir Mark Prescott's gelding duly justified strong market support. He has a penalty to carry here but there may not be enough to prevent a follow up with Effie B finishing last on her only previous try over 7f, though she is dropped markedly in class here. Nottingham second Royal Steps has every chance if staying the extra furlong, however, and makes more appeal than either Wellingrove or Pippy.
