        Verdict

        None of these inspire confidence but VITESSE DU SON was beaten less than a length at Chepstow when attempting to land a gamble and gets a token vote back on the all-weather. Mr Gus has been in better form lately and could be thereabouts while Grace Plunkett won a classified event here before finishing tailed off back in a handicap. Deftera Lad is another classified winner that has failed to figure in subsequent outings but Air Of York won off a similar mark at Bath back in July.
