In depth
Verdict
Boris The Spider was most impressive on the soft at Ayr last time and is taken to follow up that victory, with Nocatee and Rouge Et Noir put forward as the main dangers. Micky Hammond's gelding stayed on gamely to beat Sir Edward Burrow over the one mile five furlong trip and will have no problem with this slight drop in distance. He is making his all-weather debut, but there is a good chance he will handle the surface and is a confident choice. Nocatee comes here following a recent sortie over hurdles at Perth.. Pat Haslam's charge was a shade disappointing on that occasion but had excellent form on the flat earlier in the year and has to be respected. Rouge Et Noir hails from a stable in good form and although showing little ability of late, must be treated with caution on his all-weather debut. Munaawesh may prove best of the others, but Boris The Spider was most convincing last time and gets the verdict
