Verdict

Mulberry Lad has been running consistently well and can land this event at the main expense of Mister Benji and Cabourg. The selection did nothing wrong last time out when chasing home Binnion Bay at Lingfield and off his current mark there is no doubt that he is capable of winning races. This is not a strong handicap and he looks to hold solid claims. Mister Benji has the plot draw and although he is not as good as he once was, he is dangerously well treated on his best form and with this in mind he has to enter calculations. Cabourg was disappointing here last time but this drop in trip should suit and he does have a fair draw. Piccolo Prince has shown his best form at Southwell and he is not helped by being drawn in stall 10. Mulberry Lad is in good form and is taken to land the prize.
