        Verdict

        Soviet Threat was most impressive when winning on his debut and can get the better of Wainwright and Winthorpe. The selection was a little green in the early stages but soon got the hang of things and moved smoothly into the lead in the home straight. He only beat modest opposition but did it in style and should improve. Wainwright has been knocking on the door recently and put in another sound display when third behind Shifty Night in a completive event last time. He should pick up some place money again today. Winthorpe rarely gets beaten far and with a bit of luck in running should be involved in the finish. Of the others Hawkit doesn't look too badly treated and may sneak into a place, however for the winner it has to be Soviet Threat.
