In depth

Verdict

Wild Desert is 8lb higher than his latest win and needs further anyway and Cotton King is on a career high mark having scored at this track last month. Last year's Haydock winner Pittodrie Star has solid claims back on the Polytrack on the back of his second over today's trip at Musselburgh last week and Al Khawaneej ended last season with an easy victory at over 1m4f at Kempton though the handicapper took exception and has raised him 14lb for that success. Clive Cox can get them ready and his progressive filly COVERT DECREE gave the impression today's longer trip is within her compass when landing a double over 1m4f last autumn. She gets the nod with Lucy Barry negating most of a 6lb rise in the weights on her return.
