In depth

Verdict

Three last-time winners clash in a fascinating contest. The hardest to accurately assess is Jack Taylor as his maiden success arrived in France when the son of Invincible Spirit obliged at Deauville before Christmas. He hasn't been seen since and the market may prove the best guide to his chance. Kion scored quite neatly on his first run for Jamie Osborne since leaving Ireland and is greatly respected but BREATHLESS TIMES (NAP) is taken to prove best. Roger Charlton is the shrewdest of placers of his select all-weather string and his inmate scored in stylish fashion over course and distance on just his second start. He receives 3lb from the aforementioned pair thanks to his talented rider's claim and can go in again.
