      Verdict

Ghaith came up short again attempting to concede weight to younger horses at Kempton while Promote returns to action having been beaten under a penalty in September for an earlier success at Newcastle. It remains to be seen how Mendamay copes with her penalty after winning by a narrow-margin at Thirsk last month while Great Suspense finished runner-up over 5f at Windsor without looking like winning. SPRINGWOOD DRIVE never threatened I Could Do Better when second at Catterick last time but the winner is rated 95 and Tim Easterby’s filly may prove good enough dropping back down in trip.
