Verdict

TOP OFFER couldn't quite reach the winner over the course and distance last month but went one better at Newcastle and a 2lb rise is hardly likely to prevent another big effort. Havana Star scored at Beverley but disappointed when favourite here last time and will need to do better. Allux Boy would have a very good chance on his recent Hamilton form but he's never run here and hasn't shown much on the same surface at Newcastle. Lord Murphy is only 1lb higher than when scoring here in April and Caledonia Laird 3lb lower than his victory here a month later so both are respected.
