In depth
Verdict
Yorker is the pick in a wide-open contest in which the likes of Allied Victory, Miss Champers and Pharoah¿s Gold are dangers to name but three. Many have chances in this class D handicap but course and distance winner Yorker makes a bit of appeal after going down narrowly to track specialist Arc El Ciel 10 days ago. Not able to dominate on that occasion, Debbie Evans¿ six-year-old meets his conqueror on one-pound better terms for a head, and from his one draw, may take some catching. Allied Victory overcame a none too smooth passage to open his account at Southwell recently, and has the scope to do well in handicaps, while Miss Champers has been a model of consistency. Pharaoh¿s Gold came back to form with a decent second to Penwell Hill at Southwell a fortnight ago and is another to consider from his low draw, and Ovigo will be coming late to challenge for a place. All in all, a tight affair is on the cards, but we shall stick with Yorker under Lisa Jones.
