In depth

Verdict

Chookie Hamilton is bound to be popular with backers following his second to Benedict Spirit at Southwell last time as he can race off the same mark today but Ian Semple's gelding is far from certain to reproduce that form back on the Polytrack and preference is for ANTILLIA, who gets the vote with Bridgewater Boys rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was good value for success on her handicap debut at Lingfield last month and Chris Wall's filly looks to have a very good chance of defying the 5lb rise for that win here. Little Richard has been running consistently well of late and has solid place claims but he may be a shade high in the weights at present, while Hugh Morrison's Euroceleb is less exposed than most of the rest but needs to improve on recent showings. Ian Semple's Nero West ran better last time and has to be considered but more solid claims are probably held by Bridgewater Boys, who has been running consistently well of late. Antillia is open to plenty of improvement though and she is preferred.
