In depth

Verdict

Strong Vigilance is 11lb lower than when successful over C&D just under a year ago but has hardly picked his feet up since. Warden Bond is in a rich vein of form, however, and chasing a C&D hat-trick this afternoon. Kyle Of Bute will have needed his run here three weeks ago and will strip fitter today but Aviso is probably just in the handicapper's grip now and Master Of Song has been a little below par lately. Harrys Yer Man needs to step up if he's to figure in this grade but that's not the case with VANILLA RUM, who was taking on better opposition here last time. John Mackie's charge was far from disgraced and, possibly still on a decent mark, gets the nod.
