In depth

Verdict

A plumb draw should enable BAHAMIAN LAD to confirm recent placings with Princess Valerina here despite being 1lb worse off, while there are others in with a shout. The selection had little in hand over the Derek Haydn Jones-trained mare last time out and from the two pitch he looks capable of keeping his head in front. He drops back in trip here but he does show good speed in context and there is no reason why the distance should be his downfall. Princess Valerina should again be competitive, but a car park draw looks a concern over this minimum trip. Kelamon has a 1 from 16 win record on articificial surfaces, but that success did at least come at this track, albeit over 7f. Even so, he seems adaptable as far as trip is concerned and we expect to see him thereabouts from this mark. Silvanus has a win from this mark to his name and he does act around this circuit. A thoroughly consistent gelding, he looks sure to give a good account. Much of those comments could also apply to Incomparable, but he is unlikely to live up to his name from this mark and we'll take Bahamian Lad to score.
