In depth

Verdict

Foden has struggled in tough contests since winning at Lingfield in June and an apprentice’s allowance negates a penalty back at this level. But PAVLODAR can also do better back in novice company after an outing in France and Clive Cox’ colt gets the vote on his earlier placed efforts. He’s weighted to beat Newcastle third Outsmart but Upton Park looks a likely improver having placed at Ffos Las on his debut and is preferred to both Muzaffar and Loudspeaker.
