In depth

Verdict

Caustic Wit, Boanerges and California Laws are three against the field in this tight handicap and the vote is given to Caustic Wit The selection won in game fashion last time out when beating Nautical and although having a penalty for that win he again appears to have everything in his favour and from a good draw he looks the value bet. Boanerges rates the main danger as he won well last time out when beating Blue Maeve. However, he is best off a very strong pace and as that does not look likely here he looks worth taking on. California Laws stayed on to be fifth behind Briery Lane last time out but that was over six furlongs and the drop in trip has to be of concern. Of the remainder, Orchestration is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is hard to win with and with this in mind for the winner we return to Caustic Wit.
