        Verdict

        Princess Peaches remains hard to predict and was tailed off at Southwell in between a couple of good efforts at the same track. Better was also expected of Basingstoke on the Fibresand last time having slipped down the handicap but he returned a losing favourite and blinkers are applied for the first time today. A good run from Caledonia Laird in the earlier division of this would further boost confidence in MR CHRISTOPHER, who was beaten a length by the latter when third here last week with a subsequent winner in second. Tom Dascombe's charge gets the nod with the likes of Reginald Claude, Tamarin and Beauty's Forte all closely matched on latest running over 6f here.
